UNSW ADA Innovation Hub - circular design training and sprint

philo & co is proud to have co-created and delivered the inaugural UNSW ADA (Arts, Design and Architecture) Innovation Hub Circular Design Sprint. This collaboration aligns with the Innovation Hub’s mission to foster interdisciplinary expertise and tackle complex challenges through partnerships with staff, students, and industry.

Circular design

Over two engaging days, 60 students explored circular economy principles and design practices, diving into interconnected systems and using systems mapping to rethink how UNSW could reduce waste and promote sustainability. The students presented their ideas to a distinguished panel, including Claire Annesley, Dean of UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture, and Scientia Professors Sven Rogge and Veena Sahajwalla, from UNSW Science and the SMaRT Centre.

Winning solutions included initiatives like on-campus mending services, repurposing surplus catering food, and a clothes swap community service, all designed to reduce waste and create a more sustainable campus experience.

UNSW

philo & co is privileged to have contributed to this impactful training, witnessing how the students’ innovative ideas can make a real difference to campus life.
