Sustainable Packaging Guidelines for Freedom Homewares Range

Freedom Homewares

philo & co was tasked with developing sustainable packaging guidelines for Freedom to enhance supplier engagement and progress the company's commitments to APCO obligations.

Approach: philo & co engaged suppliers to assess current packaging processes and identify strengths and areas for improvement. The guidelines were designed to enhance supplier knowledge and align with APCO packaging targets, incorporating considerations for kerbside recycling systems, SUP bans, and Freedom’s packaging principles to ensure a comprehensive approach to sustainability.

Impact: The development and implementation of the sustainable packaging guidelines led to several key outcomes:

  • Improved supplier engagement, as partners gained a clearer understanding of sustainability requirements and best practices.

  • Enhanced alignment with APCO Action Plan commitments.

  • Greater awareness of material considerations among suppliers, and internal stakeholders leading to more informed choices that comply with kerbside recycling and SUP plastic regulations.
