Creating games with goodness- guiding Joey Games to develop circular designs and packaging that promote playfulness and care.

Joey Games

philo & co partnered with Australian-owned Joey Games, a company dedicated to promoting playfulness while fostering care for Australia’s people, plants, and animals. Joey Games sought our expertise to define their sustainability positioning and develop circular design principles that align with their brand strategy and communication.

Approach: We guided Joey Games through critical decision-making processes, crafting a comprehensive strategy that articulated their sustainability and circularity commitments.

Impact: Our collaboration achieved the many outcomes for Joey Games’ business and packaging initiatives, including:

  • Development of a sustainable packaging and product design framework to guide decision making.

  • The design of colour-blind friendly games that minimise components and utilise FSC-certified materials in both products and packaging, incorporating 95% recycled content grey board.

  • The elimination of single-use plastic shrink wrap packaging to enhance environmental responsibility.

  • The implementation of a game share scheme promoting swapping, thereby extending product life and reinforcing community engagement.

  • Consistent brand messaging that effectively communicated the brand's sustainability goals, fostering stronger connections with environmentally conscious consumers.

This partnership not only strengthened Joey Games' commitment to sustainability but also positioned their brand as a leader in environmentally responsible play.

philo & co were a pleasure to work with. They guided us through crucial product and packaging decision making as we set up our business and helped us clearly articulate our sustainability commitments.
